At Deep Water Cay, you can fish the calendar year-round with great results. For the biggest bonefish of the year, fishermen come to the cay from September to November.
During January and February, you’ll find bonefish in the three- to six-pound class. The average temperature is 69 degrees, with the occasional northern wind to cool off the flats.
Though some anglers feel that the summer months in the Caribbean are too hot to fish, the average temperature at Deep Water Cay is just 83 degrees. The big schools of bonefish averaging up to eight pounds might convince you that it’s just right.
"I've never seen a place with such big bonefish. Eight to nine pounders are pretty regular. Well, you see 'em, you don't necessarily catch 'em."
