Over the years, Deep Water Cay has evolved beyond fishing and today boasts an array of tropical water sports, providing a wide range of activities for every member embarking on their Bahamas family vacation. From SCUBA and snorkeling at healthy reefs and among a wide diversity of marine life, to paddle boarding and kayaking, there are endless ways to get your water thrills on.

Sailing

Seeing the island from one of our Hobie Cats is an experience not to be missed. Call ahead to book a trip out and we will be happy to show you and your friends around the island. Catch some wind, and let the sails take you.

Snorkeling

Experience the beauty of our reefs, blue holes and flats with amazing sea life right near the water line. Guided trips are available, as well as excursions paired with divers. Or you can just stay close to the docks, put on your mask and snorkel and dive in.

Paddle boarding

Stand or kneel on a paddleboard, maneuvering around the mangroves, through the channels and all around the cay. Some bonefish anglers even use paddleboards to sneak up on their quarry. Called “paddle boning,” this method opens up a whole new way to fish.

Scuba Diving

Deep Water Cay is close to a diversity of dive sites, with gradual descents to 750 feet. These depths mean water that’s cooler and clearer, with higher visibility to witness incredible corals and marine life. Whether you’re new to SCUBA or want to expand your skills, we offer a number of dive opportunities as well as PADI courses and certifications.

Reef, Wall and Blue Hole diving

Dive down on the reef and witness brilliant coral, sea fans, unusual creatures, and colorful tropical fish. Our underwater walls descend into trenches teeming with sponges, seawhips and schools of reef fish. For the more adventurous, try diving at one of the limestone blue holes, teeming with marine life.
